SCBA/SAR Repair & Maintenance Training

All attendees must be pre-approved before attending any of the following Honeywell Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) or Supplied-Air Respirator (SAR) training courses:

  1. Panther/Cougar/HIP PAC/SAR (2 days)
  2. SCBA Re-certification (1 day)
  3. Titan (2 days)

SCBA Re-certification Prerequisite Requirements: 

  • ONLY currently certified Honeywell / Sperian / Survivair SCBA/SAR Technicians, re-certifying on: Titan, Panther, Cougar, SIGMA, BA1000, HIP PAC & SAR systems may attend.
  • Persons attending MUST bring at least five (5) PosiChek3 test result sheets from SCBA/SAR systems that they have personally tested within the 90 days prior to the course date.
  • The PosiChek3 test result sheets must reflect the make/model/type.
  • SCBA/SAR systems upon which the technician is being re-certified.

If you DO NOT/CANNOT meet these prerequisites for the re-certification class, then you must enroll into the appropriate 2-day training course.


Technicians attending the Honeywell SCBA/SAR regulator repair/maintenance training courses must bring to class the following tools. A MAXIMUM OF TWO TECHNICIANS MAY SHARE THE TOOL KIT

STANDARD TOOLS REQUIRED FOR CLASS

  • Flat Blade Screwdrivers: Medium, Small, and Jewelers with a Narrow Blade
  • Phillips Screwdrivers: #1, #2, and small, pocket size.
  • Retaining Ring Pliers: (Internal & External, or combination)
  • ¼” “T” Handle Driver OR ¼” Drive Ratchet
  • 6” or 8” Adjustable Wrench
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Assorted Picks, Plastic are best, metal dental picks will work
  • 6” Quick Grip (bar style clamp) or 6” “C” Clamp
  • 1/4” Drive, Deep Socket Set: (Must include at minimum: 1/4”, 5/16”, 11/32“, 7/16”, & 1/2“)
  • Open End Wrenches: (Thin headed Tappet wrenches recommended
    • (Must include at minimum: 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2“, 9/16”, 5/8”, 11/16”, & 3/4“)
  • Allen Wrench Set: (Must include at minimum: .050, 1/16”, 5/64”, 3/32”, 7/64”, 1/8”, 9/64”, 5/32”, & 3/16”)
  • Tool Box or Bag

STANDARD TOOLS (NOT REQUIRED FOR CLASS)

  • Screwdriver, 1/8” Flat Blade X 4” or 6” long, (Warrior SCBA)
  • 3/4“, 6 point, deep socket, (For UAC Over-Pressure Relief valve, Panther SCBA)
  • 1”, 6 point, deep socket (For UAC fitting, Panther SCBA)
  • Torque Screwdriver, 2 - 40 in. lbs. (Various uses, Panther SCBA/SAR)
  • Recommended Bits for Torque Screwdriver or Low Torque Electric Screwdriver.
    • (Various uses, Panther SCBA/SAR) #1 & # 2 Phillips, #1 & # 2 Flat Blade, Allen Set 5/64”, 3/32”, 7/64”, 1/8”, 9/64”, 5/32”, & 3/16”
  • 1” Open-End Wrench (2 Req’d, Hip Pack 975200 regulator)
  • Number 61 Drill Bit (For piston seat removal, Hip Pack 975200 regulator)*
  • Punch 5/64” (Sigma Machined Body Regulators Only)
  • Torque Wrench: (0 – 100 in.lbs. or 0 – 150 in.lbs.). (Various uses, Panther SCBA/SAR)
  • Small Ball Peen Hammer (Various uses, Panther SCBA/SAR)
  • 1¼” Crows Foot Wrench for Cylinder Valve
  • Torque Wrench 0 – 100 ft.lbs for Cylinder Valve

HONEYWELL SPECIAL TOOLS (NOT REQUIRED FOR CLASS)

  • 997022 Db Meter for all Whistle Alarms**
  • 997009, Panther/Sigma O-ring Tool for Bypass**
